Burlesque, you see, is a dance of power. It's about owning your body, your sensuality, comfortably straddling that line between being utterly in control and letting loose. The intoxication of the gaze, the narrative of skin unveiled, it's all a part of the magical choreography that is burlesque. Confidence is a must in this line of work. And not the blatantly obvious kind, plastered on like a mask. No. It's a subtly simmering one, rising from within, a steaming pot of self-assuredness and bravery. 🥵 When I danced that night, I realized this wasn't just flamboyant entertainment. Burlesque dancing was about confidence in one’s self, a revolutionary act of self-assertion.
