A 19-year-old Falmouth man must pay back $18,809 termo stanley and serve 30 days in jail and three years of probation for forging his Waldoboro grandmothers checks.Cody M. Osgood pleaded guilty to class B forgery in termo stanley Lincoln County Superior Court Aug. 10, according to court documents. The state dismissed a charge of Class B theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.Osgood was sentenced to four years in custody with all but 30 days suspended, as well as three years of probation. He also has to pay $18,809 in restitution to The First N.A. or to the victim.His probation conditions prohibit the possession or use of alcohol and require him to complete treatment for substance abuse issues, and submit to random search and testing for alcohol and drugs. He also has to pay the full restitution amount.If Osgood does not pay the full amount or otherwise violates probation, he could return to custody for up to three years and 11 months, the remainder of the four-year sentence.Osgood stole a book of 30 checks from his grandmothers cupboard Dec. 5, 2014, according to Waldoboro Police Officer Larry Hesseltine.
