Photo by Leland Lehman/ladailypostPOLICE News:The second delivery of komforting kits was presented to the Los Alamos Police Department this morning.Komfort for Kids is providing each local police vehicle with a child backpack and one quilt for a police officer to give to a child or children in the case of a situation involving child abuse or an emergency upon the scene. The first kits were delivered Feb. 7 and the total with today delvery is 45.This program started out as a service project initiated by Cecilia Dimpfel, a local resident of Los stanley quencher Alamos who has a background of working with abused children. She is a member of an International Organization, Beta Sigma Phi BSP , a social/service organization. Of the five Chapters in Los Alamos, Dimpfel belongs to Laureate Rho stanley hrnek and offered up this program as a service project within her Chapter for Los Alamos.Dimpfel met with Los Alamos Police Chief Dino Sgambellone, who is very pleased with the project and gives his support, she said. He agreed that each Los Alamos police vehicle will be provided with a backpack containing snacks, water, a coloring book, a stuffed animal and a blanket, quilt, or an afghan to be given out when officers s |
